Manager, Ocean Trade Development Import

This position is located at our office in Gothenburg and reports to the Director Oceanfreight, Area Nordic. The Ocean Trade Development Manager (OTDM) is responsible for carrier relations and ensuring profitability as well as continuous volume growth with existing and new clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

PROCUREMENT – the OTDM Import develops and maintains a strong relationship with carriers and other suppliers to ensure that Agility is always a highly prioritized business partner for them.
You will carry on an open dialogue about rate levels and allocation agreements and continuously review the performance of carriers. Further, you will support the branch and district offices in the Nordic region with escalations of any carrier issues they feel unable to handle locally.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT/COMMERCIAL – the OTDM Import is an external face of Agility Ocean Freight in the Nordic region by working closely together with sales in interactions with existing and potential clients. You actively participate in the efforts to gain new volumes through achieving the right rate levels and setup and also by assisting in presenting the Agility Ocean Freight solution to potential clients. You will also ensure that offers are properly structured and packaged to fit customers’ needs. You will create regular and as-needed internal and external communications with market information and updates.

To ensure success and follow-through in the above areas, the OTDM should create and execute a business plan for the allocated trade/s.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Extensive ocean freight experience
  • Higher degree of education or vocational training desired
  • Detailed knowledge of the global ocean freight markets
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skill
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written Swedish and English
